It rains over 260 days a year in Ketchikan. We had sunny weather for only about the second day on our trip.

Went on a hike through the temperate rain forest of the Tongass National Park

The Gourmet restaurant on the shoip fashioned after the days of the Titanic. We had a wonderful meal.

Tenth Day August 5, 2008

We stopped in Icy Point Strait. Only one cruise ship can dock per day. We learned about Hoonah Native life and visited a temperate rain forest.

Ninth Day August 4, 2008

We stooped in Skagway. We went on a rafting trip to an Eagle Preserve and saw many eagles.

Eighth Day August 3, 2008

We stopped in Juneau. We went on a whale watching boat trip and then saw the Mendenhall Glacier. The whale watching trip included sighting more than 20 whales, as well as Harbor and Stellar Seals and a Bald Eagle.

Seventh Day August 2, 2008

We cruised to the Hubbard Glacier and got within 300 feet. We saw and heard the Glacier calving.

We flew from Fairbanks to Anchorage and then took a bus to Seward where we embarked on the cruise ship.
