Alaskan native fur coats- Each coat takes several months to make by hand.

On the Cheena River- Dog Training

We learned about dog training for the Iditarod while on the Cheena River Boat.

Alaskan Pipeline

Note the Alaskan Pipeline above dad and mileage markers. Only 198 miles to the Arctic Circle in Fairbanks. Temperatures can be -40 in Winter.
Even with the pipeline gasoline is $4.50 in Fairbanks and $5.35 outside of the Denali National Park.

Mom and Sam

Mom got a kiss from waiter Sam for help clearing the table. No one had to pay Sam.

The Evidence

Mom had irrefutable evidence in front of two aatornies at our table if she ever wanted to use it.

Miss Kitty's Kiss

Mom paid Miss Kitty a $1 to kiss Dad. Dad wondered what he would get for $5.

Fifth Day July 31, 2008

On the evening of July 30, 2008, we went to Cabin Nite which was representative of a goldrush show with a meal including barbecue chicken and salmon. It was a lot of fun.

The next day, we took the tour bus from Denali Park to Fairbanks in the am. We stopped to see the Alaska pipeline and then stopped in Fairbanks for lunch. From there went on the Cheena River on a steamer. On the way, had lectures on dog sledding and Alaskan Indian culture. Mom and i rated in an easy winner for "our most boring day".

Fourth Day July 30, 2008

Took an eight hour tour of Denali Park in a school bus. The first half was quiet but we saw several animals on the way back. In total, we saw about four bears, two fox, several Dall sheep, several herds of caribou with four or five in each, and three moose. Many were at a distance but we did get several good photos of the moose and bear which are attached.
